My Chateau Dumas' girlfriend, Sue and I went shopping at the Lakewood Antiques Market the weekend I was in Atlanta. It was a fun show. Lots of big beautiful pieces of furniture, unfortunately I only found a couple of pieces for my jewelry making. It was a great day shared with my friend that I met in France and reminiscing about our French General week last year. All those wonderful women we met on that trip and how we need to get together again!
I had the Avalon...Melted Gruyère with a hint of Bleu cheese, crumbled bacon and sweet caramelized onions, roasted garlic aioli and baby arugula sans all the diary. Usually, I pretty much smother a burger with ketchup but this bison burger was so juicy and delicious it didn't need any special sauces. The meat was so tasty...like eating ground filet mignon. I will have to say it's one of the best burgers I have ever had. The chain is mainly located in the mid-west to east coast. When in Chicago, I took the Squirrel Hunter to eat there and he raved about it. Ted's also serves salads, bison steaks all the fixin's of a big steak chop house. I will return whenever I travel to a city that has a Ted's. On a side note they also have great paper straws which I haven't seen in years! AND you can wash your hands with Borax...just like the old days. I love that stuff...makes my hands feel really clean.
