My idea of a vacation is to sit and be still…quiet time…thinking…planning…decompressing from the world. Letting all the worries of the day just flow away from my thoughts...enjoying the simple things in life. Listening to the cooing of the doves greeting the day as it starts. Listening to the sound of the rain bouncing on leaves of the trees…drops of water playing on the rooftops as it slides down to hit the thirsty earth…in response, the earth gives us the color of the rainbows in all that springs forth from its soil. Walking to the beach to watch the sun rising from the ocean...God’s special gift of the beginning of each day…the waves gently lapping the sand while a cool breeze flows over my skin. People strolling the beach with coffee in their hands…some doing yoga…some just sitting still and raising their faces like sunflowers do toward the sun…others walking their dogs, letting them romp through the water with the excitement of puppies discovering a new toy…each stopping to enjoy the brilliant artistry of the sun coloring the cloud as it rises from the ocean. I stand taking in the beauty and inhaling the glory of the new day. Trying my best to capture it with the eye of my camera so I can savor it in my memory when I return to my home which is far from the sounds of the crashing waves.
